Level 11 · Lesson 7 的、地、得对比
的 vs 地 vs 得
一个读音,三个位置,三个字:“的”在名词前,“地”在动词前,“得”在动词后。
One sound, three positions, three characters: 的 before a noun, 地 before a verb, 得 after a verb.
你已经会了 · You already know this
到这儿,三个字你都见过了:“我的书”“慢慢地走”“跑得很快”。说话的时候它们一模一样,都是轻轻的一声,谁也听不出分别;写下来才分成三个样子。所以“的地得”不是读音问题,是书写问题——先看位置,再决定写哪个字。
You have now met all three: 我的书, 慢慢地走, 跑得很快. In speech they are identical — one light unstressed syllable, and nobody can hear which is which. Only writing splits them into three characters. So 的/地/得 is not a pronunciation problem but a writing problem: look at the position first, then choose the character.
规则 · The rules
换个说法:“的”组成定中结构,回答“什么样的东西”;“地”组成状中结构,回答“怎么做”;“得”组成述补结构,回答“做得怎么样”。三个问题不一样,三个字自然也不一样。
Put it another way: 的 builds a 定中 structure and answers 'what kind of thing'; 地 builds a 状中 structure and answers 'how is it done'; 得 builds a 述补 structure and answers 'how did it turn out'. Three questions, three characters.
“快乐的生活”是一种生活,中心是名词;“快乐地生活”是一种活法,中心是动词;“生活得快乐”是对生活的评论,动词在前,评论在后。前两个连读音都一样,只有写出来才分得清;第三个词序变了,一听就不同。
快乐的生活 is a kind of life, headed by a noun; 快乐地生活 is a way of living, headed by a verb; 生活得快乐 is a verdict on the living, with the verb first and the verdict after. The first two sound the same and separate only on paper; the third has changed its word order, so you hear the difference at once.
这三个字在手机上、网上常常写混,因为读音一点儿提示也不给。上面的对比可以缩成两个问题:先问“后边是名词还是动词”,再问“动词在前边还是在后边”。考试和正式的文章里,这两个问题就够用了。
On phones and online these three are constantly mixed up, because the sound offers no hint at all. The comparison above shrinks to two questions: is a noun or a verb coming next, and is the verb in front or behind? In exams and in formal writing those two questions are the whole test.
